Raising the BarRecommendations for a Sustainable Energy Policy from ENVS 350 studentsThe Environmental Studies Workshop (ENVS 350) is part of the senior experience for students in the Environmental Fellows Program administered by the Environmental Council where students and faculty work together in teams to analyze a particular environmental problem and develop potential solutions. This semester the students worked on preparing resources and recommendations for a sustainable energy policy for the Urbana campus. They presented their work before the Chancellor and representatives from the Energy Task Force and Campus Energy Conservation Committee. The students were divided into six groups – each focusing on a different policy theme and conducting a case study of a different campus building. Towards the end of the semester, all the groups collaborated with each other to prepare the final presentation and report on a sustainable energy policy for Illinois.
