Finding a Major: Design and Performance

Environmental awareness can be expressed in the things we create: buildings, homes, painting, and music. Design and performance are mechanisms through which the environment can be brought to the general public in an easy and accessible way. Through environmentally-conscious design, faculty and students work to help improve the environment while maintaining standards of living. University of Illinois artists document, inspire and enhance the natural and built environment through creative works. Our musicians, actors and dancers express an environmental ethic or depict environmental concerns through artistic outlets.
