Advances in technology enable a deeper understanding of the environment and provide new methods of resolving environmental problems. At the University of Illinois, new technologies are being developed to improve air and water quality, promote clean manufacturing and low impact agriculture, visualize and share environmental data via computers, and improve energy conservation and efficiency.
